1.1 What is the Toyota Drive Mobile Application ?

  • The Toyota Drive Mobile Application is a fast one-tap connection for service booking, information, offers, website, location map, 24seven road assistance, special service campaigns, help centre and many more.

1.2 How do I navigate through the application to access the various features?

  • The Toyota Drive Mobile Application has been designed for easy, intuitive navigation.
  • The Home Screen (refer to Picture 1) displays 6 main features we have in the app.
  • The tab on the left of the application, menu page, (refer to Picture 2) allows you to access other features.

1.3 Where can I find more information about the Toyota Drive Mobile Application?

  • You may contact our toll free number 1800-8-TOYOTA (869682).

1.4 Who can use the Toyota Drive Mobile Application?

  • It is available for general public view. However, you will need to be a registered user to have access to your Profile Page, Vehicle Information, Service Appointment and Road Assistance.

1.5 Who can use the Toyota Drive Mobile Application?

  • The Mobile Application comes at no cost to you.

2.1 Where do I get the Toyota Drive Mobile Application?

  • The iOS version of the Toyota Drive Mobile Application is available through the Apple App Store on iTunes.
  • The Android version can be found on Play Store.

2.2 How do I download the Toyota Drive Mobile Application?

  • From your IOS:
    • 1. Select the App Store icon
    • 2. Go to Search and type “Toyota Drive”
    • 3. When “Toyota Drive” comes up, press the application icon and select “Get” to download to your phone
  • From your Android based phone:
    • 1. Select Play Store
    • 2. Go to Search and type “Toyota Drive”
    • 3. Select the Toyota Drive app from the list
    • 4. Select “download” from the Toyota Drive information page
    • 5. Press “Accept & Download” to automatically download

2.3 Where can I find the Toyota Drive Mobile Application on my phone?

  • Once installed, the application will be listed in the applications or games/applications section on your mobile phone.
  • The location of the application will vary based on the phone model.

2.4 I started to download the application and I’ve been waiting a long time. How long should it take?

  • The length of time it takes to download the Toyota Drive Mobile Application depends on the data speed on device.

If you don’t own a Toyota

  • Fill in your name as per your NRIC
  • Agree through the PDPA and Terms & Conditions
  • Tick if you require any future marketing material from Toyota
  • Once register, an activation link will be sent to your email
  • Access email to activate the application for re-login

3.1 Who can register?

  • Individual registered vehicle purchase from UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd.

3.2 How to register?

  • Input email address and create password

If you own a Toyota

  • Fill in your name as per your NRIC, NRIC no, and Vehicle Registration Number
  • Agree through the PDPA and Terms & Conditions
  • Tick if you require any future marketing material from Toyota

3.3 Where to register in Toyota Drive mobile application?

  • User can register by tapping on Registration button which can be found at the Login Page

3.4 Why do I need to register?

  • Registration is required for verification purposes to allow access to vehicle details.

3.5 What will happen if invalid information (email address, etc) provided?

  • User will NOT be allowed to proceed with registration.

3.6 I have provided valid information, but am still not able to register?

  • For assistance OR information verification, kindly contact our toll free number 1800-8-TOYOTA (869689).
  • If you are the 2nd car owner and have not registered your ownership with UMWT, please call our toll free number 1800-8-TOYOTA (869689).

3.7 What will happen if I no longer own the Toyota vehicle?

  • User need to contact our toll free number 1800-8-TOYOTA (869682) or visit nearest service centre to update your information.
  • Alternatively, user can email their request to update de-ownership at customersupport@toyota.com.my

3.8 Why should I provide my email address?

  • Email address will be the identification info for login and it will also be used for password recovery process due to forgotten password.

3.9 What email address should I provide?

  • You may register if you have a prior email address registered with UMWT. Otherwise, any valid email address is sufficient.

3.10 Where is your PDPA agreement?

  • PDPA agreement link is provided at bottom page T&C agreement. It will be linked to Toyota Malaysia website (www.toyota.com.my)

4.1 Do I have to enter my email and password every time I want to use the Toyota Drive Mobile Application?

  • As long as you remain log-in, you are not requested to re-enter email and password every time you log into the application.

4.2 How do I reset my password?

  • Log into the Toyota Drive Mobile Application and follow the Change Password at My Profile page to reset.

4.3 What if I forgot my password?

  • There is a Forgot Password button provided at Login page.
  • This link can be used to request for a password recovery which will be sent to your email address provided during registration.
  • Please also check your SPAM or Junk Email in case you did not received your Forgot Password email in the inbox.
  • Or user can call our Toyota Free Phone at 1800-8-TOYOTA (869862) for assistance.

4.5 How do I logout of the application?

  • There is a Logout listed located on the My Profile page.

5.1 What devices are compatible with the Toyota Drive Mobile Application?

  • iOS with version 8.0 and above
  • Android with version 5.0 and above

5.2 Is the Toyota Drive Mobile Application compatible with an iPad?

  • Yes, you can download the Toyota Drive Mobile Application on an iPad. However, the screen will be the mobile phone screen size.

5.3 Do I need a data plan to use the Toyota Drive Mobile Application?

  • Yes you will need a data plan as the Mobile Application will need to send and receive data from your mobile phone.

5.4 How much data does the Toyota Drive Mobile Application use?

  • Most of the Toyota Drive Mobile Application features only require a small amount of data to be transmitted (1-2 kB). Features which utilize maps (such as Service Appointment, Road Assistance, Pre-Owned Cars & Vehicle Model) may require 30 kB of data or more

5.5 How much space does the Toyota Drive Mobile Application take up on my device?

  • The Toyota Drive Mobile Application uses approximately 15MB free space for Android and up to 30MB free space for IOS

5.6 Do I need GPS to use the Toyota Drive Mobile Application?

  • Some features do require GPS. To take full advantage of the app and its features, GPS is ideal.

5.7 Can I transfer my Toyota Drive Mobile Application to another phone?

  • Yes, you may transfer Toyota Drive Mobile Application to another device. Do login using your email address and password

5.8 Can I use Toyota Drive Mobile Application on two mobile device simultaneously?

  • Yes, however it can have an impact on the notifications received (might not be sent to all devices on which the account is active).

6.1 Is the Toyota Drive Mobile Application secure?

  • Yes, the application has built in security features such as:
    • a) Unique subscriber password and email address required for access
    • b) Multi-factor authentication to ensure compliance at registration

6.2 What happens if I lose my phone with the Toyota Drive Mobile Application installed?

  • A unique 8 to 12 password and email address is needed for a user to access your application. If your devise is lost or stolen, an unauthorized user would not be able to access the application without the correct login credentials.

6.3 Will my account information reside on my phone?

  • There is only an encrypted token in the device to help validate the account.

7.1 I’m not getting any results back when I try the Outlet Location feature, why?

  • The Outlet Location function uses your phone GPS location to search for local dealers. If the phone cannot acquire an accurate location, the Outlet Location function will not work properly.

7.2 Why do I need to allow the application to access my phone’s GPS location?

  • Your phone GPS is required to use several features in the Toyota Drive Mobile Application including Service Appointment, Road Assistance, and Outlet Location.
    • a) Service Appointment & Outlet Location Uses your phone’s GPS to find the outlet that are the closest to your current location.
    • b) Road Assistance
      • The Mobile Application will also request your phone GPS when initiating a call for Roadside Assistance service.
      • Road Assistance will use GPS to locate your position when SOS is requested. By submitting a request, it acquires your location and sends the needed assistance.
